Balance experience with control & security
Mac is no longer an “edge-case system for creative types.” Employees move between Mac computers, iPhones, iPads, Windows PCs and Android mobile devices throughout the day. IT is expected to support that choice while protecting corporate access, maintaining compliance and keeping work moving.
Ivanti brings Apple-native Mac management into a broader Autonomous Endpoint Management strategy. You can enroll, configure, secure and support Mac alongside other endpoints, then use trusted visibility and governed automation to act when a device drifts from policy.

More than enrollment
Zero-touch deployment is important, but it is only the first step. Afterwards, IT still needs to keep encryption enabled, validate and push app updates, support users — including remote troubleshooting, and maintain appropriate access while keeping the user experience reliable. Those responsibilities become harder when Mac is managed through a separate set of tools and processes from the rest of the endpoint estate.
It is not enough to simply configure a Mac. What matters is whether IT can establish trust, detect drift and take the right actions without slowing the employee down or adding another operating silo.
- Fragmented operations: Different systems, workflows and data models make it harder to apply consistent policy, demonstrate compliance and coordinate action across mixed environments.
- Policy drift after deployment: A device can begin in a compliant state and fall out of policy later. Periodic checks leave gaps between what IT expects and what is actually true.
- Compromising security actions or user experiences: Teams need to enforce updates and remediate risk quickly, but uncontrolled change can interrupt employees and generate more support work.
- Limited endpoint insights: Without current device, software, health and risk signals, access and remediation decisions are based on incomplete information.
Apple native control
Ivanti provides the Apple-native control plane for Macs. It supports modern Apple frameworks for enrollment, configuration, software updates, security controls and identity. Ivanti Autonomous Endpoint Management extends that foundation with trusted endpoint data, risk-based action, remote support, digital experience insight and governed remediation across the broader estate.
This approach lets organizations make Macs a choice for their workforce while preserving the management depth available from Apple. It also gives IT and security a consistent way to see, manage, protect and support endpoints across operating systems.
- Establish trusted visibility: See and maintain real-time device inventory, ownership, OS versions, installed software, encryption status, health and compliance.
- Manage and deploy at scale: Use Apple Business Manager, configuration profiles, app distribution and policy-driven workflows to prepare each Mac user for work.
- Protect, patch and support: Enforce security controls, manage OS and third-party software, connect compliance to access and troubleshoot remotely with user permission.
- Optimize with automation: Use device state, events and governed workflows to identify drift, initiate remediation and reduce repetitive manual work.
Manage the full lifecycle
Bring the essentials of Mac management together with the visibility and automation needed to sustain the desired state after deployment.
Provision and onboard with less effort
Integrate with Apple Business Manager for automated enrollment of corporate-owned Macs. Support additional enrollment paths for acquired hardware and personally owned devices, then apply the right level of control for each ownership model.
- Zero-touch enrollment through Apple Business Manager
- Enrollment profiles and Apple Configurator for non-ABM devices
- User Enrollment for personally owned Macs
- Recovery Lock and Activation Lock management for Apple silicon
Build and maintain a trusted device posture
Turn security requirements into enforceable Mac controls. Establish a baseline across encryption, extensions, privacy, passcodes and network policy and prevent configuration drift.
- FileVault enforcement, recovery key escrow and encryption status checks
- Kernel and system extension allow-listing
- Privacy Preferences Policy Control management
- Passcode, login window, firewall and network security policies
Keep operating systems and applications current
Use declarative device management and staged deployments to move beyond manual update chasing. Maintain visibility into OS and app versions, set deadlines and roll changes out in controlled waves.
- Declarative software update policies and enforced deadlines
- Fleet-wide OS version visibility and compliance reporting
- Public and private app distribution with self-service options
- OS and third-party application inventory and patching
- Restrictions to prevent unauthorized/shadow IT app installation
Connect identity, access and compliance
Extend identity to the Mac login experience and use device posture as part of access decisions. A healthy, managed device should not receive the same treatment as one that is unknown or out of policy.
- Platform SSO from the login window to apps and browsers
- Passkey attestation for phishing-resistant authentication
- Integration with existing federated identity providers
- Certificate-based Wi-Fi and VPN authentication
- Compliance signals that support conditional access decisions
Support employees and automate routine action
Give service teams current device context and remote troubleshooting capabilities, then use automation to reduce recurring work and resolve common issues faster.
- Real-time device health, security and inventory data
- Remote control with user permission
- Remote Administrator account with LAPS to protect account information
- No-code and low-code automation for routine remediation
- Digital experience measurement to identify friction earlier
- Apple Warranty connector for visibility into hardware lifecycle and support status
