New Integration of Xtraction and DesktopNow Provides Real Time Insight into Security Risks and User Experience
*This post originally appeared on the AppSense blog prior to the rebrand in January 2017, when AppSense, LANDESK, Shavlik, Wavelink, and HEAT Software merged under the new name Ivanti.
This week at VMworld 2016 we’re announcing the second of our combined solutions from our AppSense-LANDESK family. The new integration of Xtraction with DesktopNow gives enterprises an easy-to-use reporting and dashboard solution that captures the wealth of data insights gained by DesktopNow and provides real-time, at-a-glance views into user experience, logon performance and risk behavior.
Xtraction aggregates data sources from multiple vendors into business views that support decisions at all levels. In a single view you can pull and display data from enterprise systems like IT service management, IT asset management, client management, project management, and more. This self-service solution provides reports and dashboards without coding so all professionals – regardless of technical or analytical skill level – can extract data and view actionable insights. That’s a huge benefit since it increases productivity and reduces dependency on specialized staff.
DesktopNow, with Xtraction, enables enterprises to have these reporting benefits:
- At-A-Glance Dashboards – Administrators have an instant overview of metrics such as active users, database size, average profile sizes, personalized application counts, logon counts and other user activity.
- Highlight Most Blocked Applications – Administrators are able to present a live view of the top executables which have been prevented within an organization using AppSense Application Manager rules.
- Highlight Most Allowed Applications – Administrators are able to present a live view of the top executables which have been permitted within an organization, for licensing purposes or identifying security incidents.
With this latest announcement, we continue to demonstrate how we are capitalizing on our collective capabilities to deliver new solutions to address the growing business intelligence and security needs for both IT and non-technical staff. Earlier this month we announced a combined offering of AppSense Endpoint Security Suite 2.0, including Shavlik Protect, which gives our customers the ransomware fighting power they need to execute five critical security controls recommended by the SANS Institute.
Please visit us at VMworld in Las Vegas, now through September 1 where you can see our combined solutions and chat with our team at AppSense booth #447 and Shavlik booth #445. For more information or to request a demo, go to http://www.appsense.com/products/xtraction-for-desktopnow/
