Ivanti Interchange 2020 Cancellation: What You Need to Know
Given the CDC’s new recommendations for gatherings of no more than 50, the state of emergency in Nevada, and the MGM Resort’s indefinite closure announcement, we are canceling our live Interchange event and Partner Leadership Summit for 2020.
We know this is an event our customers and partners look forward to each year, and though we are disappointed to cancel, we have worked hard to find a solution that would still offer you the opportunity to continue your mastery of Ivanti solutions.
Below we answer the most frequently asked questions regarding this cancellation.
Interchange 2020 Cancellation FAQs
Q: Why have you decided to make this change?
A: It is the best and safest decision for us and our attendees, given the current COVID-19 situation and our concern over the health and safety of our customers, partners and employees, along with the numerous travel restrictions and guidelines of not gathering groups of more than 50, and the most recent US Government recommendations of 10 or less.
Since this decision was made late last week, there have been even more rapidly evolving developments, most dramatically the temporary shut-down of several Las Vegas hotels, including the Interchange conference venue.
The process and details to transfer Interchange registrations to alternative training options from Ivanti Advantage Learning are being finalized, as well as the plans to host a “road tour” with the new Ivanti executive team later in the year.
Q: What are the alternatives you are offering to registered conference attendees?
A: We know this is a hardship on customers, as well as a disappointment. Our alternative offers have an even higher dollar value than our Interchange conference.
For all registered attendees who purchased a full conference pass, participants may choose between an Ivanti Global Academy/Learning Online subscription for ESM or UEM products through the end of the year (a $3,000 value), OR a 3-day public remote training session through Ivanti Global Academy/Advantage Learning Live (valued at $2,295). These training course options include: Endpoint Manager (EPM), Unified Endpoint Management , and Ivanti Service Manager (ISM).
For all registered certification attendees, we're offering remote admin certification training courses. These 3-day in-person classes that were being hosted prior to Interchange will be offered as a 4-day remote training session. Those who registered for these sessions can also schedule a remote, public Instructor-led “Meet the Expert” session for Q&A, best practice sharing, new features, and problem solving.
Again, we are working quickly to finalize the process for transferring Interchange registrations to these options, so customers and partners should expect to receive an email later this week. You will have until April 15, 2020 to make a decision on which course you would like to take, based on your own business objectives.
Q: Will registrants be refunded for their ticket and hospitality?
A: We are encouraging registrants to TRANSFER their current pass to the training options referenced above. If, after reviewing the details of these options, the customer or partner prefers to receive a refund, they can do so by sending an email to [email protected]. Please note that our registration vendor is experiencing a high volume of requests at this time, so credit card refunds will start being processed next week, but may take longer than our initial expectation of several days. Other payment method refunds, such as Purchase Orders or checks, could take up to two weeks.
Although we were previously instructed by the MGM Grand that attendees should have received a notice of cancellation for their hotel reservations, we have since been advised that this is NOT the case. However, the MGM has assured us that refunds of deposits paid indicate that the hotel reservation has, in fact, been cancelled. If they have booked a room through the Interchange portal and have NOT received a refund of their deposit, please contact us at [email protected] so we can facilitate a resolution.
Also, many airlines have implemented more flexible cancellation and change policies during this time. Registrants should consult their travel agency or airline to cancel their flights.
