SOUTH JORDAN — 30 juin 2016 —

June 30, 2016 – Warehouses around the globe have a brand new wearable solution from our partner Zebra Technologies, and Wavelink is proud to help provide productivity-boosting software on this exciting new device.  As Zebra announced their WT6000 wearable mobile computer, Wavelink’s solution for terminal emulation modernization is pre-licensed, standard on every WT6000 device.

Wavelink Velocity, marketed as “All-Touch TE” by Zebra, makes it easy for businesses to deploy this new Android form-factor and bring their existing terminal emulation client with them – with a modern, touch-driven interface.  Through this modernization, businesses avoid the high costs and risks associated with app migration, enhancing the user experience without making modifications to their host systems.  The rugged, multi-touch capacitive display on the WT6000 makes it easy for workers across the supply chain to read and enter data, even while wearing work gloves.  With All-Touch TE, these workers can easily navigate existing telnet workflows using the familiar tap and swipe navigation offered on the Android operating system.

Businesses can also choose Velocity to bring their legacy web apps to the Android platform.  This is a great way for SAP ITSMobile users to make the move to Android.  Velocity offers enterprise browser controls including lock-down capabilities, so workers remain focused on tasks.  Velocity also makes it easy to convert desktop-oriented web application screens to mobile deployments via CSS inserts.

Wearable devices have been a common form-factor for workers in environments such as warehouses – where both hands are often needed for tasks such as order picking, or even steering a forklift.  Velocity-based apps can be further enhanced with Wavelink Speakeasy voice enablement, as announced in June 2016.  With the Android operating system, a number of advanced features and specifications, as well as Wavelink Velocity, this latest generation of wearable mobile computer is the latest in a line of Android devices that is equipped with the tools to maximize worker productivity.
