LANDESK Named 2016 UACTE Business of the Year

Utah-Based Software Company Recognized for Dedication to STEM Education in Community

SALT LAKE CITY — 9 février 2016 —

LANDESK today announced it has been named the 2016 Business of the Year by the Utah Association for Career and Technical Education (UACTE).

The UACTE Business of the Year award celebrates an organization that has demonstrated its commitment to career and technical education (CTE) through partnerships and continuous support of CTE professionals in Utah.

“Without the proper exposure and hands-on experience, students may be unaware of the endless opportunities that emerge from science, technology, engineering and math,” said Steve Daly, LANDESK president and CEO. “We are dedicated to helping shape the next generation of engineers here in Utah and are honored to be recognized by the UACTE for our efforts.”

Since 2013, LANDESK has provided all employees around the world with paid time off to contribute to STEM education in their communities. In Utah, LANDESK employees participate in a variety of activities, including STEM days at elementary schools, assemblies, CTE class presentations, STEM Fest, career days and job shadows in many schools and districts in the state.

In January 2016, several LANDESK employees volunteered to teach a beginning computer programming course in the Jordan School District, which helped jumpstart computer science education across the district. Since the course announcement, enrollment has grown from eight students in a single location during the winter 2015 semester to hundreds across the district that have signed up for fall 2016 classes.

LANDESK was recognized at the UACTE awards ceremony held on Friday, February 5,2015 at Desert Hills High School in St. George, UT. As the UACTE Business of the Year, LANDESK has the opportunity to apply for the National Association for Career and Technical Education Business of the Year Award, presented in April 2016.
