SECURITY

Visit Ivanti At June Security Events

Ivanti will be exhibiting at two upcoming security events: the RSA Conference (June 6-9) and the Gartner Security & Risk Management Summit (June 7-10). Stop by our booths – #4236 at RSA and #733 at Gartner – to have your questions answered by Ivanti product experts and view demos of our security solutions, including:

  • Risk-based vulnerability and patch management.

  • Cloud-based management for traditional VPN and ZTNA.

  • Combined UEM and endpoint security.

  • And more!

Additionally, Ivanti will deliver a speaking session on the topic of “How to Proactively Combat a Multibillion-Dollar Cybercrime Industry” at each event. At RSA, the session will be delivered by Srinivas Mukkamala, Ivanti SVP and GM of security products, on Wednesday, June 8, at 4:10 PM PT. At the Gartner Security & Risk Management Summit, the session will be delivered by Chris Goettl, Ivanti VP of product management for endpoint security, on Wednesday, June 8, at 11:15 AM ET.

Whichever event you attend, be sure to add this session to your agenda to learn about the importance of risk-based vulnerability management in defending against ransomware.

EXTENDED PRODUCTS GROUP

Device Control

Ivanti Device Control has a long history of enforcing security policies on removable storage devices (e.g., USB sticks). In the 2022.1 release we added Cloud Drive Management as a public preview feature, to extend the control of data flow to cloud storage locations. We have continued to enhance this feature and it is now available for beta testing. We have also added configuration options in the management console to support the following functionality:

  • Ability to allow or block the file copy process either to or from a cloud drive / OneDrive.

  • Ability to shadow the file names of copied files and view these file names in the reports.

  • Ability to push configuration changes regarding Cloud Drive Management automatically to client machines.

Preset templates are now available for Microsoft OneDrive management. To test this feature, register at https://ivanti.centercode.com/key/IDAC_AppBoundary_Beta

Workspace Control

We included a couple of useful new features in recent private Workspace Control revisions. These private revisions are released every four weeks and contain fixes for customer issues. However, we also take the opportunity to include new functionality for customers to test out. Check out the following new capabilities that were added in the 10.9.10.0 and 10.9.20.0 private revisions.

  • To speed up the adoption of Windows 11, we added 11 Lockdown and Behavior options to quickly change the look-and-feel of a Windows 11 session. These options are all based on customer feedback, received via Ivanti Ideas

  • We have enhanced the Logon Performance feature with additional details regarding the Windows and Workspace Control events that occur at session logon. Detailed Windows and Ivanti Workspace Control information is now available by double-clicking on any of the new Logon performance entries.

  • We have also completed development on the Authorized Owners feature by adding the ability to block applications based on the file hash or signing certificate. Authorized Owners can reduce the administrative overhead associated with Application Security and these enhancements provide greater levels of flexibility when implementing Application Security policies.

Try these features out by downloading the latest private revision here.
