As promised, the AppSense team was out in full force last week in San Francisco showing off “The Best Desktop Ever” both on the show floor and around town. The whole thing was actually kind of a blur:

User experience and new methods of delivering desktops and applications were hot topics during the VMworld end-user computing keynotes, and we were lockstep all week talking about all of the ways that AppSense delivers an outstanding user experience and unmatched deployment flexibility.

We also tried something a little bit different this year and invited some of our key technology partners like Dell, Unidesk, and Imprivata, as well as customers such as Sunrise Health and MidMichigan Health, into our booth to share their experiences working with AppSense.

We put a lot of love and effort (including the tears of several engineers) into our products, so it’s always great to hear our customers share how they’ve used our stuff to solve problems and achieve real benefits.

And most importantly, we also handed out hundreds of AppSense robots, which people inexplicably can’t get enough of.

I don’t know where we got these things from, but Marketing would like me to make an announcement that we are not responsible for strange side effects like obsessions about user satisfaction, sudden concerns with user density, and a sudden aftertaste of AppSense green pickles after everything you eat. Weird.

Anyway, the action on the show floor was really just the start for us last week. Other highlights included:

  • An AppSense Live event Monday evening where existing customers El Camino Hospital, County of Los Angeles, and Tyler Junior College joined a VMware product manager to discuss the impact AppSense has in VMware environments in front of an audience of customers, prospects, and partners.
  • Our AppSense Party Tuesday evening at the popular Thirsty Bear Brewing Company, which was well-attended and a total blast.
  • Two days of jam-packed Vision Briefings by one of our masterminds, Mike Mills.

Thanks to everyone who stopped by to see us on the show floor or at one of our events. It’s always great fun for us to both meet new people and reconnect with existing customers and partners.

Next stop: Barcelona for VMworld Europe in October. See you there!
