Well, we’ve officially changed our name to Ivanti. That’s HUGE news! It positions us for another 30 years of growth.

Here’s a taste of what they’ve had to say:

Customers

"Ivanti isn’t only a vendor, it’s a partner in every sense of the word. I can’t imagine a better partnership than what SPX has going with Ivanti.”

– Gary Mitchell, Director of Architecture and Engineering, and long-time LANDESK customer, SPX

"LANDESK has been an integral component of our IT Services for years and is central to many of our IT successes. LANDESK’s focus on innovation, growth, and new technology has been exceptional. We are enthusiastic about what is to come and our on-going partnership with Ivanti."

– Robb Harper, Manager of IT Service Management, Oil States International

"LANDESK has truly been a business partner that we've cultivated a speed of trust with. From products, to people to culture, this is a company we've established foundational relationships with for both services and solutions. We are really excited about our next steps together with Ivanti."

– Nick Gehr, Manager, Enterprise Application & Support Services @ Aviall Services, Inc. a Boeing Company

Partners

“As a long-time partner of both LANDESK and HEAT, we’ve seen the synergy of these two service, infrastructure and security management leaders first hand. The complementary nature of HEAT’s cloud-based service management software paired with LANDESK’s IT asset management and endpoint security portfolio results in a powerful suite of solutions that meet today's growing customer requirements. We’re eager to capitalize on the new opportunities ahead as a Ivanti partner.”

– Jon Camilleri, President and CEO of Kifiniti Solutions

"We have been a LANDESK partner for over 14 years. We have seen many phases of their growth and maturity in the marketplace. We are extremely excited for the future with this merger and launching a new phase with Ivanti."

– Bryan Boam, President of Network Consulting Services, Inc (NCSI)

“RennerBrown Professional Services has been working as a partner with LANDESK for the last 16 years, and we couldn’t be more excited about the prospect of beginning this new phase of our partnership. With the combined resources and shared vision of LANDESK and Heat, we’re looking forward to all of the great new things Ivanti has in store.”

– Chris Mack, Director of Professional Services, RennerBrown

“As a National Sales Provider for LANDESK, we have seen their commitment to developing world class leading cloud, security and IT asset management technologies. We look forward to our continued partnership with Ivanti.”

– Alma R. Zamora, Manager – Product Management - Insight

“We've been an expert solution provider with LANDESK for over 17 years. We're confident this merger will be incredible for existing and future users, providing even more ways to confidently secure, service and manage the enterprise.”

– Susie Watkins, Solutions Vice President, Network America

“Over the past several years, our customers have benefited greatly from LANDESK, AppSense, Shavlik and HEAT Software solutions. We appreciate the quality of our relationships with LANDESK and its executives, and look forward to working together to help launch this next chapter of growth with Ivanti.”

– Matt Soroka, Senior Director – PPM, CDW

Analysts

“LANDESK and HEAT both bring deep benches of endpoint security management and security technologies to Ivanti. The merger of the two organizations under Clearlake Capital Group aims to place the combined organization among the top endpoint security and management vendors in the market today. Enterprise buyers looking to support a unified endpoint security strategy focused on app and user-centric protection will benefit the most from this move.”

– Chris Sherman, Senior Analyst, Forrester Research

"LANDESK aims to be the next major player in the endpoint security space,” wrote Chris Sherman in the recent evaluation, The Forrester Wave™: Endpoint Security Suites, Q4 2016. “Many security buyers think of LANDESK primarily as a systems management company, but over the past several years this has clearly changed. Through both acquisition and in-house development, LANDESK now offers a number of strong security technologies that place it among the top endpoint security suites.”

– Chris Sherman, Senior Analyst, Forrester Research

“Unified endpoint management provides the foundational processes and solutions essential to supporting emerging challenges in empowering end user’s in the age of mobility,” noted Steve Brasen, Research Director for analyst firm, Enterprise Management Associates. “The product suites offered by HEAT Software and LANDESK collectively offer comprehensive support for broad multi-device management, application delivery, service management, and security that constitute the core of unified endpoint management practices.”

– Steve Brasen, Research Director Enterprise Mobile & Endpoint Management, Enterprise Management Associates (EMA)

“Today nearly every business relies on IT systems and its users having secure access to them, wherever they are and whenever they need it. As the IT world becomes more complex in terms of the range of devices used to access systems and as security requirements escalate, IT service delivery needs to be effective efficient and robust. The integration of the broad range of capabilities provided by HEAT Software and LANDESK has the potential to enable organisations to both improve security and reduce user downtime while keeping a grip on costs, of which skilled IT staff are a major component. The combination also offers the opportunity for IT teams to better focus on key service improvement rather than spending time on routine tasks.”

– Tony Lock, Director of Engagement and Distinguished Analyst, Freeform Dynamics Ltd

“Security is hard these days, coping with a dynamic threat landscape, digital transformation demands, and regulatory upheaval. We shouldn’t try to make it harder by creating siloes between security operations and IT operations. In all but the biggest or hyper-sensitive companies, it makes sense to run IT and security from the same console.
The merger of HEAT and LANDESK makes sense: both are leaders in IT Ops and both have integrated security functionality into their propositions. With minimal overlap in channel and geographic coverage, especially in Europe, there are plenty of synergies to pursue.”

– Duncan Brown, Research Director, European Security Practice, IDC

“What we’re seeing here is better support for security in the IT Ops world. The risk of too many security tools consuming too much management time, and the potential for poorly integrated systems missing threats or alerts, is now shifting behaviour towards a more integrated security stack. In some cases this will be served by using a security platform approach, such as those on offer from Symantec and BT. In other cases, security will become a more integrated part of IT Ops, and served by the likes of HEAT/LANDESK.”

– Duncan Brown, Research Director, European Security Practice, IDC EMEA,
https://www.infosecurity-magazine.com/news/landesk-and-heat-software-to-merge/

Media

“Clearlake Capital Group, which already owns HEAT Software, is finalising the acquisition of IT management and endpoint security specialist LANDESK. Once completed, the two companies will be merged, creating a powerhouse ITSM platform.”

– James West, Editor, SITS Insight, http://www.servicedeskshow.com/blog-spot/landesk-puts-itsm-first/

“LANDESK's IT systems and security management tech will be combined with HEAT's cloud-based service management and endpoint security tools. The strategy… is to combine the two firms in order to bulk up and better compete.”

– John Leyden, The Register, http://www.theregister.co.uk/2017/01/03/landesk_heat/?mt=1483464011154

“When Clearlake Capital confirmed plans to acquire LANDESK and merge it with HEAT Software earlier this month, some skeptics could have said ‘here we go again.’ After all, LANDESK has been acquired and sold multiple times since the 1990s. But take a closer look, and the IT asset management software company apparently has momentum heading into the HEAT merger.”

– Joe Panettieri, Channel e2e, LANDESK, HEAT Software Merger: CEO Steve Daly’s Channel Strategy

“This deal, following LANDESK’s 2016 acquisition of AppSense, continues LANDESK’s focus on developing a Unified Endpoint Management Strategy which will expand their Total Addressable Market. LANDESK’s user management solution, before that acquisition, was highlighted by its strong security features, including patching, security suite, and endpoint protection. AppSense complemented this with their privilege management and access control capabilities, as well as virtual capabilities that LANDESK did not have.”

– Mark Cox, Channel Buzz, LANDESK, HEAT to combing as LANDESK is purchased by HEAT owner

“On a more strategic level, the merger of LANDESK with Heat should make it possible to achieve the ‘operational efficiencies’ that are typically realized when two firms in the same field join forces. Such savings could in turn could free up resources for product development with the aim of making the combined company more competitive on the long run.”

– Maria Deutscher, Silicon ANGEL, Private equity firm buys IT automation provider LANDesk for $1.1B

“The venture capital firms that own LANDESK and HEAT Software announced the two companies will be merged to create a still unnamed entity dedicated to building a cloud service that will simplify the management of both endpoints and services across the enterprise.”

– Mike Vizard, ITBusinessEdge – LANDESK Merges With HEAT Software

“The combined company will integrate by HEAT’s Cloud-based Service Management (CSM) and Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) software solutions with LANDESK’s technology to build a cloud service that will enable management of both services and endpoint across the enterprise. The company should enter the cybersecurity market in a strong position, with over 1,600 employees in 23 countries serving over 22,000 broadly diversified customers across industries and managing and securing more than 40 million endpoints.”

– Jeff Edwards, Solutions Review – LANDESK Acquired by Clearlake Capital for $1.1B, Merged With HEAT Software

The gathering of LANDESK and HEAT “will reinforce the geographic coverage and LANDESK’s vertical markets by bringing an enhanced platform, providing management and security solutions to IT professionals and companies”.

“The first reactions from the retailers network are rather positive: “The two companies have broadly complementary offers, very positive for their clients”, notes Alain Takahashi, GM of the value-added wholesaler Hermitage Solutions, who distributes Heat Software’s offer in France. Same reaction on David Masurel’s side, GM at DMI, a LANDESK partner specialized in ITAM and ITSM: “LANDESK managed to find a financial partner that should help it grow and the convergence with Heat is very interesting.”

That’s HUGE news. It positions us for another 30 years of growth. We've tried to keep this announcement a big secret. For the most part we succeeded. Below you'll see list of questions and answers about the brand. Hopefully it helps sort through the confusion.

The headline is simple: LANDESK, HEAT, AppSense, Shavlik, and Wavelink have now officially combined into one brand and one company named Ivanti. Below you can read an FAQ about the new brand. If you have additional questions, simply let us know.

Q: What is the official company name?

A: Ivanti

Q: What does Ivanti mean?

A: It is a made up word that suggests forward or ahead. It hearkens to innovation and being a catalyst for change, which are qualities we are already known for in the market.

Q: How is it pronounced?

A: ee-von-tee

Q: Why are we changing the company name?

A: LANDESK has evolved. As a company name, LANDESK no longer represents all we do or the forward vision of the company. LANDESK is a trusted and well-respected name that has served the industry and our customers well. However, we have outgrown the brand. We have acquired seven companies in the past four years, and are now merging with HEAT Software. These additions are part of our strategic vision to evolve our offerings, but because LANDESK is so strongly associated with systems management, it is increasingly difficult to expand the company perception to encompass all we offer. Changing the name and logo signals to internal teams, customers, and the industry, that our company has a new vision, positioning us well into the future.

Q: What do we want Ivanti to be known for?

A: You can see all of this messaging on our website, so it is no secret. But, we’re the place that IT goes when they want to do their work. Our offerings emphasize operational endpoint security. We are experts in helping organizations create modern, optimized IT. We help organizations discover all the devices in their environment, including ones not meant to be there. We align data from multiple systems, to help provide insights to help IT make informed decisions, and we help them take action on those decisions, reducing risk.

Our technologies are known for being reliable, easy to integrate and use alongside other IT systems, and for giving IT the ability to get the job done—whatever that job is.

Q: What will stay the same?

A: A lot! We will still have great people and technology. We will continue to produce and maintain reliable products that help IT organizations balance rapidly-evolving user requirements with the need to secure critical assets and data. We will still provide customers with great service. And, of course, we will continue treat employees, customers and partners as family.

Q: What will happen to LANDESK.com, HEATSoftware.com, AppSense.com, Shavlik.com and Wavelink.com?

A: Ivanti.com launched January 23 in the United States, and simultaneously in most nations around the world. It is our new company website. It includes products from all product lines. Immediately after the brand change our other websites will still exist, but they’ll be slowly turned off over the next few months.

No new content will be added to our old websites. All new content will be added to Ivanti.com

Q: What does this change for me if I’m a customer?

A: Honestly, not a lot at all (other than better products in the future). You might notice a few name and color changes within the products you use, but that’s about it. If you have ANY issues at all, let us know.

Q: Will this invalidate any support agreements in place right now?

A: No. The name change will not invalidate any support agreements.

Q: Will we see the LANDESK, HEAT, Shavlik, AppSense, or Wavelink logos anymore?

A: We’ll advertise, market, and attend events as Ivanti. You’ll probably see the old logos pop up here and there at events or on some brochure that was printed during the Reagan administration, but generally you should only see the Ivanti logo moving forward.

In the timeless classic Romeo and Juliet, Shakespeare wrote, “What’s in a name?”

This famous line implies that names are simply labels that don’t really matter. After all, Juliet posits, “A rose by any other name would smell as sweet. It’s a nice sentiment, but perhaps (like Juliet) a bit naïve.

If a rose were called skunk weed, you would expect a very different experience when you smelled it. And as Romeo and Juliet’s tragic tale demonstrates, names can unite or divide us.

Names matter.

So what does this have to do with Wavelink?

We’re changing our name in 2017.

As you know, Wavelink was acquired by LANDESK a few years ago. LANDESK is a strong, stable and well-respected company in the IT industry. Our technologies are known for just working. This means being reliable, easy to integrate and use alongside other IT systems, and giving IT the ability to get the job done—whatever that job is—particularly when it comes to operational IT and remote enterprise systems management.

And in 2017, both Wavelink (and our parent company, LANDESK) will change our name. We’ll be one unified brand.

What we do, our commitment to perfect technology and our focus on our industry WILL NOT CHANGE. But we’re also a part of something bigger. LANDESK has acquired several companies over the last several years, such as:

IT service management (TouchPaper)

IT asset management (Managed Planet)

Patch management (Shavlik)

Enterprise-class, ruggedized mobile device management and application streaming (Wavelink and Naurtech)

Mobile email security (LetMobile)

Business value dashboards and reporting for IT (Xtraction)

User environment management for physical and virtual devices, as well as application management and privilege management (AppSense)

They’ll all change too. All these companies will have only one name in 2017. Does this change our focus and our commitment to our customer? No.

Over the next several months, you will start to notice changes in Wavelink (and LANDESK) and the other brands we’ve acquired. We are evolving. Refining our focus. Transforming in ways we never have before. And we want to bring our customers with us, continuing to help you along your organization’s journey to IT maturity.

We will still be the great company you’ve come to know and trust. We will continue to develop and maintain the world-class solutions relied upon by organizations across the globe. But we will be coming together in new ways, under a new company name, and with a new energy.

<atom:author><atom:name>Leslie Bonsteel</atom:name><atom:uri>https://www.ivanti.com/blog/authors/leslie-bonsteel</atom:uri></atom:author>

LANDESK Got TAGGED at Gartner ITxpo

Last night (Oct 17) at Gartner ITxpo, a graffiti artist tagged our corporate sign (with our permission!).

The opportunity to signal to 15,000 CIOs and other industry insiders that a change is coming was too good to resist.

This marks the first foreshadowing of big changes coming to LANDESK and our brands in early 2017.

Check out the time lapse video of the whole process below. Additional pictures of the graffiti artist doing his thing are up on LANDESK’s Twitter and Facebook pages.

LANDESK CEO Steve Daly and CMO Steve Morton discuss the details of the recent AppSense acquisition announcement.

It has been a couple of weeks since LANDESK announced its intention to acquire AppSense, and in those weeks, we here at LANDESK have been working hard to ensure that the transition will be as smooth as possible for customers and employees alike. We, like many people, believe that LANDESK and AppSense products provide complimentary capabilities that will only serve to strengthen our overall products.

This move represents a new era for user-centered IT and brings with it significant increases in capabilities, customer support and global foot print. AppSense will provide LANDESK with more opportunities to provide customers with custom-tailored solutions, no matter their virtualization needs. And while some people may think what we are doing here is a tad boring, we couldn’t be more excited about the possibilities that this acquisition brings. We also think that boring can be a pretty good thing when it comes to software you depend on everyday.

Steve Daly (CEO) and Steve Morton (CMO) of LANDESK sat down recently to talk about some of the reasoning behind the acquisition and where they see it going in the future. Both Daly and Morton expressed that a substantial new set of skills and expertise are being brought to LANDESK’s offerings. They also share the three main reasons behind making the move. Daly expresses his desire to expand the LANDESK family and ensure that the company continues to be a great place for awesome people to do fantastic work.

For more details on what AppSense will be bringing to the LANDESK family of products see the video below.
